Crescendo will be taking new members on in January, but will still be rehearsing outdoors in Miguel’s.
We start back 10.30am on Saturday 23rd January 2021.
Every 2 weeks weather permitting ok
Since 2004 when Crescendo Choir was formed, it has gone from strength to strength, and every year sees an improvement in performance, and is now regarded by many as one of the best ex-pat choirs in the area.
Crescendo gives several concerts each year and has raised thousands of euro for charity.
Essentially the emphasis is on Crescendo being a fun choir with a good social atmosphere.
First, I send best wishes for a happi(er) and healthy 2021. Let's hope and pray that the vaccines will soon be rolled out and we can start to live a more normal life. I recognise that it is a gargantuan task to complete and with the virus still very much with us, there is enormous strain and stress on our medical and care services both here in Spain and in our various home countries.
The choir managed to have a final meeting of 2020 in Los Montesinos at Rincon de Miguel's restaurant on 9 December when they had a rousing singing of carols and traditional Christmas songs.
Towards the end of the session they bade a fond farewell to Mary Priddle who was one of the choir's founding members back in 2004. Afterwards, most of the choir and their friends enjoyed a delicious traditional Spanish menu del día in the restaurant.
The choir plans to recommence singing (outdoors and socially distanced) at Miguel's restaurant on Saturday 23rd of January. The weather has been very kind to them so far and we hope that will continue whilst ever these restrictions continue.
Irene, their Music Director will be compiling an exciting programme of music for forthcoming concerts. - We hope that they will be able to recommence soon.
Crescendo is looking to expand and asks if anyone is interested, to check their website for contact details www.crescendo-choir.com.
Feliz y prospero año nuevo.
The choir, made up of Soprano, Mezzo, Alto, Tenor and Bass, sing a wide variety of songs ranging from musicals to spirituals, from pop to classical and all types in between! We’ve even sung nursery rhymes!
Crescendo lives up to its name of ‘Internacional’ because of the many nationalities in its membership, including Dutch, German, Finnish and Danish, with Spanish Musical Director and Pianist.
The choir rehearses once a week on Monday 5.30pm to 8.00pm at Casa Contenta Avd Justo Quesada, Rojales (near Thursday market car park).
Based in Torrevieja on the Costa Blanca, Spain, it is registered as a charitable organisation and has made many contributions to charities all over Spain and in particular in Alicante Province.
Has re-opened it doors. It is open 11am to 7pm, but NOT Saturday.
